Man murders wife, arrested

BENGALURU: A man killed his wife by slitting her throat in their Mico Layout house on March 15. The accused Nagaraj, a security guard, was drunk and committed the heinous crime.

Their son, Darshan, who was out of the house at the time of the murder, filed a complaint with the police, leading to Nagaraj’s arrest.

According to DCP Mohammed Sujeetha, the couple had frequent quarrels, but the motive behind the murder is still unclear and that is further investigation is under way.

Nagaraj and his wife Rangavva originally hailed from Jagalur in Davanagere district and had been living in Bengaluru for the past 4-5 years. The couple had been married for 25 years and have three children.

However, the exact motive behind the murder is still unclear. Police have seized a knife from the scene, which is believed to be the murder weapon. Further investigation is ongoing.
