Maharashtra woman thrashed over suspicion of child-lifting in Humnabad village

BIDAR: A woman hailing from Maharashtra was brutally attacked by villagers in Ghatborala in Humnabad taluk on suspicion of being a childlifter. The incident occurred when the woman, identified as Usha, who was working in a sugarcane field, went to the village to buy mutton.

The villagers, fuelled by rumours, assaulted Usha, pulling her by the hair and hitting her on the face. She was then detained at the gram panchayat office. Police arrived and clarified that Usha was not involved in child trafficking. Cases have been registered against several villagers for the attack.
