BENGALURU: The Bengaluru South City Corporation has taken strict action against 89 paying guest (PG) accommodations in its jurisdiction for violating norms. A total of 19 PGs have been sealed, and a total fine of Rs 61,000 has been imposed on the owners.
The inspections revealed several irregularities, including lack of clean drinking water, poor hygiene, inadequate kitchen facilities, absence of fire safety equipment and no CCTV cameras.
Details of the Corporation action:
- Padmanabhanagar: 3 PGs fined Rs 5,000 each.
- Jayanagar: 13 PGs inspected, Rs 11,000 fine imposed, three sealed.
- Bengaluru South: 18 PGs inspected, Rs 9,000 fine imposed, 4 sealed.
- BTM Layout: 24 PGs inspected, three sealed.
- Bommanahalli: 32 PGs inspected, Rs 39,000 fine collected and nine sealed.
