BENGALURU: A fake bomb threat was sent to the Italian consulate in Bengaluru, sparking panic and prompting an investigation. An email claiming to contain five RDX bombs was sent to the Italian consulate in Halasuru, threatening to blow it up.
The email was sent from gici_dimeesh@outlook.com to bivigtondie.visi@esendii.in on January 30. The Consulate’s Security Manager, Giudomenic O’Milano, has filed a complaint with the Halasuru police.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. This is not the first time a fake bomb threat has been reported in Bengaluru, and authorities are taking the threat seriously.
Two weeks ago, a bomb threat email was sent to the Israeli Consulate General office at Halasuru in in the city, under Halasuru police station limits. The email claimed that an RDX bomb had been planted in the office premises and would explode within a few hours.
