Mother-son attacked for putting up bhagwa flag photo on social media in Yadgir village

YADGIR: A mother and her son were brutally attacked by a group of people from another community at Putpak village in the district for posting a photo of a saffron flag on social media.

The incident happened when a group of Shivamala devotees were conducting a religious function in the village and had put up saffron flags. A young man from the village had posted a photo of the flags on social media, which was misinterpreted by a group of people from another community.

Villagers staged a protest demanding action against the attackers.

A group of seven Muslim youths went to the young man’s house and attacked him and his mother, Nagamma, when she questioned their actions. The attack has sparked outrage in the village, with locals protesting and demanding action against the perpetrators.

The protesters, carrying images of Shiva, Parvati, and Dr B R Ambedkar, demanded that the attackers apologize and be arrested. The police have registered a case against the 7 Muslim youths involved in the attack.
