BENGALURU: Over the last three years, the police have not been able to secure conviction in a single case of raising pro-Pakistan and pro-Bangladesh slogans in the state.
The Home Department released data showing 17 cases of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Bangladesh Zindabad’ slogans raised in Karnataka from 2023-2026, with zero convictions.
In the Legislative Council, Home Minister G Parameshwara replied to BJP member D S Arun’s question, stating 17 cases were registered (three in 2023, eight in 2024, six in 2025) and one ‘Bangladesh Zindabad’ case in 2026.
The cases were registered in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Mysuru, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru and are pending investigation or in court. In some case, B reports were filed, the reply said.
Speaking in Mysuru on Friday, Home Minister Parameshwara stated that cases related to ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans are pending in court, and that he would not comment on ongoing cases.
