TUMAKURU: Three people died and four others suffered injured, one seriously, in a horrific accident on the national highway near Nelahalu in Tumakuru district on Monday. The deceased, Aniket (42) from Uttar Pradesh, Abhir (44), and Sanmokti (35) from Andhra Pradesh, were residents of Bengaluru and worked in a private company.
They had gone on a trip to Murudeshwar and Gokarna with friends and were returning to Bengaluru when the accident occurred. The car, an Maruti Ertiga, had seven people inside, and the remaining four are receiving treatment at Tumkur District Hospital.

The accident occurred when the car collided with the lorry from behind on National Highway 48 near Nelahalu. The police have visited the spot and the bodies have been sent to Tumkur District Hospital mortuary. The injured are receiving treatment, and an investigation is underway.
The victims were friends who had taken a break from work to go on a trip together due to the string of holidays. They were returning to Bengaluru when the accident occurred, and the impact was so severe that three people died on the spot.
