The ongoing work may take another two months to complete.

BENGALURU: The double decker flyover in the city is partially open to traffic, with the section from Ragi Gudda to Silk Board opened last year. However, the other section from Silk Board to Ragi Gudda is still under construction and may not be ready for another 2-3 months.

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) had initially promised that the flyover will be fully open by January, but the work is still ongoing. The partial opening has eased traffic congestion to some extent, but the ongoing construction work is causing delays.

The flyover’s length is 3.57 km, and it is being built at a cost of Rs 400 crore. The BMRCL had stated that the flyover would be open to traffic by December-end or early January, but the work is still pending. If the work is completed in the next two months, the flyover may be fully open by March.

The double decker flyover is expected to reduce traffic congestion in the city, especially in Hosur, Marathahalli, and Central Silk Board areas.
