Techie arrested over alleged illicit affair in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A techie was arrested by the West Division police in the city for allegedly harassing his wife and having an illicit affair with a another woman.

The wife, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, had filed a complaint against the techie Jacob, alleging that he had physically assaulted her, used derogatory language, and forced her to undergo an abortion. She had also given up her lucrative job to support Jacob, who was unemployed.

The police tracked Jacob down to his girlfriend’s shared PG accommodation, where they found him in a compromising position. This is the first arrest under the Atrocity Act in Karnataka since the DCR-E police station was established.

Jacob, a techie, had been married for two years and had a child. His wife had been working in a prestigious position in a private company but quit her job to support Jacob.
