Sleeper coach bus crashes into toll booth near Devanahalli, drivers injured

CHIKKABALLAPUR: A private sleeper bus, heading to Hyderabad, crashed into a toll booth at a toll plaza on National Highway-44 near Devanahalli on Friday morning. The driver and co-driver were seriously injured and had to be pulled out of the bus and the vehicle also suffered significant damage in the front.

Miraculously, no major casualties were reported. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the bus moving suddenly swerving right, losing control and crashing into the toll booth, rolling ahead for some distance and reversing into the toll booth again. Passengers can be seen jumping out to trying to stop the bus.

The bus was travelling at high speed when it hit the booth. The CCTV footage reveals the bus moving forward, then reversing and crashing into the toll booth, narrowly avoiding overturning. The police are investigating the incident which occurred in Bengaluru Rural district.
