BENGALURU: Mobile phones were found in Parappana Agrahara jail during a surprise inspection by the authorities on December 24. 7.55 pm and 8.45 pm.
The jail officials conducted a raid led by Assistant Superintendent B R Andani and seized two mobile phones, including a Redmi Android phone with two SIM cards (IMEI 1: 864943075835542, IMEI 2: 864943075835559), from undertrial prisoner Lokonab Lodje Emmanuel (7089/2025). An FIR has been registered against Emmanuel based on a complaint by jail superintendent Mounesh.
Emmanuel allegedly threatened and assaulted officials, incited other prisoners to cause trouble, and used abusive language. He also reportedly threatened to file false complaints against officials in court and human rights commissions. The authorities have filed a complaint against Emmanuel for obstructing their duties, threatening, and assaulting them.
