BENGALURU: Kichcha Sudeep’s comments at a movie event in Hubballi on Sunday have sparked controversy, with many interpreting them as veiled jabs at Darshan and his fans. Though Sudeep didn’t take anyone’s name directly, the remarks are seen as targeting Darshan’s supporters.
Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi, responded indirectly, seemingly taking a dig at those who speak ill of her husband when he’s not around. “Some people talk about Darshan and his fans when he is not there… They talk on stage, in videos and outside. But when Darshan is around, these people aren’t even in Bengaluru”, she remarked.
Now, Vijayalakshmi has personally joined the Darshan fans’ arena in support of her husband. She has trolled on social media and started a war of words with a post on her social media accounts that it is a gimmick to promote the movie ‘Mark’.
Darshan’s fans too have jumped into the fray, taking to social media to defend their idol. “You called for a war, so we are here”, they say, adding, “Even Shani can wage a war, but winning people’s hearts is different”. Also, D Boss fans in Davangere are posting a photo of Vijayalakshmi and giving a thumbs up. Some others are sharing a photo of Darshan’s look in the movie ‘Devil’ and taking digs at Sudeep.
Dhanveer, another actor, has praised Vijayalakshmi’s fiery response, sharing a photo with Darshan and saying, “There are many animals in the forest, but only one lion”.
The fan war is heating up, and it’s unclear where it will end.
