BENGALURU: The Tyagarajanagar incident, where children were assaulted by a man sparking public outrage, is taking a serious turn. Suspicions are now being raised whether the accused, Ranjan, who abused the children, really has mental health issues.
The accused, Ranjan, who was questioned in the case of kicking a five-year-old child, is currently in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. When the police contacted his parents, they said Ranjan has a mental problem and they had come for treatment.
However, on being asked to provide relevant documents regarding his treatment or previous treatment, the parents could not provide any.

The Banashankari police, who have taken statements from the parents of four children regarding the assault, are seeking expert opinion on which sections to file the case under and how to proceed, considering the accused’s alleged mental problem. After this, the police have decided to arrest him and seek the opinion of doctors at Nimhans Hospital.
