BENGALURU: Two women labourers were killed in a hit-and-run accident on NICE Road near Hosakerehalli while cutting grass on the roadside. The deceased were identified as Rangamma (45) and Chowdamma (55).
The women, originally from Yadagir, were daily‑wage labourers. A speeding car hit them when they were clearing grass beside the road. The impact threw the women about half a kilometre away and they died on the spot.
The accident occurred around 5.54 pm on Friday and the driver fled the scene. A complaint was lodged at the Kengeri traffic police station, and a search for the driver is on. The bodies have been sent to Raja Rajeshwari Medical College for postmortem examination.
