RAMANAGARA: A 22-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her home in Vibhutikere village of Ramanagara district after being blackmailed and cheated by a youth, on Sunday night. She left behind a death note blaming the youth for her death.
Varshini, a pharmacy student in Mysuru, blamed Abhi for her death alleging that he had deceived her in the name of love, blackmailed her, made her pregnant and then forced her to undergo an abortion. She also accused Abhi of taking money and gold from her.
In her suicide note, she said, “Abhi from Devaradoddi village is responsible for my death. He deceived me in the name of love, blackmailed me, got me pregnant and forced me to undergo an abortion. He took money and gold from me and cheated me. Don’t spare him, he should be punished for what he did. I don’t want anyone else to go through what I did”.
The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter. Varshini’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and the police are searching for Abhi. Varshini’s parents are demanding justice and seeking the arrest of Abhi.
