KOPPAL: A couple, who were to get married in less than two weeks, died after their motorcycle collided with a parked lorry when they were returning from a pre-wedding photo shoot, near Chikkabenkala village in Gangavathi taluk on Sunday night.
The couple, Kariyappa and Kavitha, were on their way back after pre-wedding photo shoot when they were involved in a collision with a lorry that was parked on the side of the road. While one died on the spot, the other died on the way to the hospital.
Kariyappa from Hanumanhatti village, and Kavitha from Mustur village, were set to get married on December 20. The couple had completed their photo shoot at Pampavan and Budheshwar temple in Munirabad and were heading back when the accident occurred near Chikkabenkala village.
Kariyappa’s brother Ramesh, who was also supposed to get married, had accompanied the couple for the photo shoot. He had returned home earlier, while Kariyappa was taking Kavitha back to her village when the accident occurred. The couple’s families had made all the arrangements for the wedding, including buying clothes and printing invitations.
The incident has left the families of the couple devastated, with relatives and friends mourning the loss. The families are heartbroken, and the atmosphere is filled with grief and sorrow. The Gangavathi Rural police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
