BENGALURU: Flight disruptions of low-cost carrier IndiGo continued for the fourth day, with hundreds of flights cancelled at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). Over 50 flights departing from Bengaluru and over 40 flights arriving in Bengaluru were cancelled on Friday.
Passengers protested against Indigo airlines, with many stranded at the airport. A group of 20 friends who were on a trip to Kulu-Manali were forced to spend the night at the airport. Some passengers were singing bhajans and dancing at the airport, protesting the flight delays. The IndiGo airline issue is causing chaos at the airport, with passengers queuing up for hours to cancel their tickets. They were demanding alternative flights or refunds.
Many passengers are facing difficulties, including a son who couldn’t travel to his father’s funeral, and a family who paid Rs 33,000 for three tickets to Uttar Pradesh, only to find out that their flight was cancelled. A woman was seen sitting at the airport with her father’s ashes, unable to travel to Haridwar due to flight cancellations. The family had booked a flight to Delhi and then to Haridwar, but it was cancelled.

A man, who had booked a flight to Ahmedabad for his mother’s treatment was shocked to find out that the flight was cancelled. Passengers are demanding alternative flights or refunds. A family was struggling to come to terms with the cancellation of their flight to Uttar Pradesh, where they were going for a funeral. They had paid Rs 33,000 for three tickets, but are now unable to travel.

The situation at Kempegowda International Airport was chaotic, with passengers and luggage overflowing, and long queues at the IndiGo ticket counter. The situation was getting worse, with passengers queuing up for hours to cancel their tickets. Passengers expressed their frustration and anger against IndiGo Airlines, citing poor customer service and lack of support.
On Friday, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has relaxed the Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) rules, allowing airlines to make changes to crew schedules.
