KOLAR: One woman died and several other passengers were injured after a private bus overturned near Manchinillakote village in Srinivaspur taluk around 3 am on Tuesday.
The bus, belonging to Haritha Travels, was travelling from Badvel in Andhra Pradesh, to Bengaluru when it collided with the road divider and overturned. The deceased woman, identified as Anita (58), was a resident of Poduturu in Andhra Pradesh.
Several passengers were seriously injured and are receiving treatment at hospitals in Madanapalle, Srinivaspur and Kolar. The bus’s wheels were detached due to the accident’s impact. The Rayalpadu police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, A woman, Gangamma (55), who was injured in a car accident near Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, has succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Kurnool. The accident occurred three days ago, claiming the lives of five people, including two children, on the spot.
Gangamma hailed from Chikkahosahalli village in Bangarpet taluk. She was part of a family that had visited Mantralaya to seek blessings. The deceased include Meenakshi (26), Sathish (34), Ritwik (4), Venkateshappa (76), and Banith Gowda (6).
The death toll has now risen to six. Only the driver, Naveen, survived the accident, which occurred on November 29 near Kotekal in Emmiganur taluk of Kurnool district.
