Ranebennur MLA Prakash Koliwad spots leopard during evening safari in blackbuck sanctuary

The MLA himself shot a video of the leopard on his phone and posted it on Facebook.

HAVERI: Ranebennur MLA Prakash Koliwad and Bhovi Nigam Chairman N Ramappa spotted a leopard in the open at the blackbuck sanctuary in Ranebennur on Monday evening during an evening safari. They also spotted a herd of blackbucks.

The leopard suddenly appeared from hiding, and MLA Prakash Koliwad captured the moment on his mobile phone. “Yesterday evening, around 6:30 pm, as I was returning from a safari with Bhovi Nigam chairman Shri Ramanna, a wild leopard suddenly appeared in front of us. The moment was thrilling. Tourists visiting our Ranebennur now have a rare chance to spot not just blackbucks, but also leopards”, he wrote in a post on Facebook.

The safari party also spotted herds of deer and blackbucks, with the latter jumping around, delighting the visitors. The incident has left the visitors thrilled and the images captured on camera are going viral.
