BELAGAVI: A 13-year-old Class 7 student was gangraped by two men at a village in Murgod police limits in Bailhongal taluk. The accused are Manikanta Dinnimani (28) and Eeranna Sankammanavar and the police are on the lookout for them.
The girl’s parents lodged a complaint with the police on Monday alleging that she was gangraped when she had gone to a flour mill to get jowar ground into flour. The flour mill is about 300 metres from the girl’s home and the duo pulled her into a sugarcane field and committed the act, the complaint said.
The incident occurred on November 23 and came to light only now as the accused had threatened the victim of killing her if she disclosed about the gangrape. The accused are since absconding and the police have launched a search for them.
