BALLARI: A 10-year-old boy died after he drowned in a lake at Bandihalli in Hagaribommanahalli taluk in Vijayanagara district on Sunday.
Prithvi, the son of teacher U Gonibasappa, was studying in 4th standard at Rashtrotthana Vidyakendra’s CBSE school. He had gone to the lake with five of his friends to swim and while swimming, he drowned in the water.
Another boy, Akash, who was also drowning, was rescued by local shepherds. The incident has been reported to the Hagaribommanahalli police station, and a case has been registered.
