HUBBALLI: Two separate incidents of stabbing were reported in Hubballi on the same day on Friday, leaving two men injured.
In the first incident, a scuffle broke out between three individuals, including Ramesh and his friends, and Mahesh, near Balaji Bar on Giriyal Road in Kasaba police station limits. Ramesh and his friends allegedly stabbed Mahesh multiple times and fled the scene. Mahesh, who sustained serious injuries, was admitted to KIMS Hospital.
In the second incident, an altercation occurred in the Town police station limits where Anil Gollar allegedly stabbed Fairoz Japri in the stomach over a trivial matter. Both incidents are suspected to have been due to alcohol consumption, and the police are investigating the cases.
Police Commissioner Shashikumar said on Saturday, “Once case involves ‘wanderers’ (vagabonds) and the other case involves people known to each other. I have instructed our officers to invoke the Goonda Act and consider externment to bring down crime in the twin cities”.
