BENGALURU: Residents of in Sompura in Nelamangala taluk staged a protest by dumping garbage in front of the panchayat office. The protest was against the Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) Ravishankar, who allegedly instructed them to dump garbage at a cemetery in Sompura industrial area.

The locals had been warning against this practice, and the PDO’s instructions sparked the protest. The locals are demanding action against the PDO for his behavior.

The incident has led to widespread discontent among the locals, who are frustrated with the government’s handling of their grievances. This comes amidst the Greater Bengaluru Authority’s drive against litterbugs by dumping waste in front of houses and penalising the offenders.
