BENGALURU: Following Delhi car blast, car parking is not being allowed at Metro stations. A strict alert has been issued everywhere. Namma Metro officials in Bengaluru are also on full alert. They are not allowing cars to be parked under metro stations, i.e., on the streets. If parked for a long time, security staff at the respective metro stations will tow them away.

At some metro stations, except for the parking lot, people have been parking on the streets for hours. Such parking is not allowed, and boards were already installed. Yet some people kept parking. Now the officials are alert, and security staff are warning people not to park under metro stations.

Yashavant Chavan, senior public relations officer of BMRCL, said that they are not giving much time even for auto parking. A limited time is given to pick up passengers. If cars, cabs, or other vehicles are parked, their registration numbers are being recorded and investigated.
“After the Delhi explosion, our metro staff are keeping a close watch on all stations and are on high alert”, he said.

Besides this, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has some news for people who go to Chickpet. Another entry/exit gate has been opened at the Metro Station which is very helpful for reaching the Cottonpet‑Chickpet shopping street.

Chickpet is the shopping hotspot of Bengaluru and is always crowded with traffic. The area is packed with people and millions of people travel visit Chickpet every day. Amid Bengaluru’s traffic, more people are using the metro to go to Chickpet.

Now BMRCL has opened a new entry/exit gate near Chickpet Metro Station. The new entry/exit gate opens towards Cottonpet and the Chickapet shopping street, which is very helpful for commuters.

Earlier, there was only an entry/exit on BVK Iyengar Road, making it difficult to go to other parts of Chickpet. Now another new gate connects to all parts of Chickpet, say commuters.

Amala, a regular metro commuter, said, “This is very convenient for all”. Another passenger, Sugatha, said, “This is a very new concept in a building called ‘Ergonomics’. It is very useful, convenient, and comfortable for all passengers”.
