RAICHUR: The Kavital police station in Sirwar taluk has brought pride to the Karnataka police department by ranking among the top 3 model police stations in the country for 2025. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has selected the Kavital police station as one of the top 3 police stations in the country based on various criteria.

The selection was made based on criteria such as public relations, police station infrastructure, staff discipline and efficiency, case disposal, and basic amenities. Following the ranking, the police station will receive special facilities from the Central government, including furniture and laptops.

The Kavital police station was in competition with the Balaganur police station in the district, and it has emerged as one of the top 3 police stations in the country. Police Sub-Inspector Guruchandra Yadav will receive the trophy from the Union Home Minister in a ceremony to be held at IIM Raipur on November 28.

This is not the first time a police station from Raichur has achieved recognition. In 2021, the Manvi police station had ranked 5th in the country. Now, the Kavital police station has secured the 3rd rank.
