Wild elephant Bhima goes missing after fight with Captain, traced after night-long search

Bhima was located on Monday with a missing tusk.

HASSAN: A wild elephant, fondly called Bhima, went missing after a fight with another elephant named Captain in the Bikkodu area of Belur taluk. Bhima’s broken tusk was found, but the elephant itself was nowhere to be found on Sunday and was traced later.

The Forest department launched a search operation, and after a night-long search, Bhima was finally spotted in a Gudibettu estate in Sakleshpur taluk. Bhima was found with a broken tusk and injured ear, and the Forest department is monitoring its condition.

The elephant had been in a fight with Captain, and its tusk was broken in the scuffle. The Forest department had been searching for Bhima since Sunday night, and it was finally located in the estate. The public is being kept away from the area to ensure Bhima’s safety.
