BENGALURU: A Rapido bike rider stole a laptop worth Rs 50,000 from a customer by using a clever trick.

The customer, Abhilash, had booked a Rapido bike to transport the laptop from DTDC courier head office to its Dodda Kammanahalli office. The bike taxi rider, who used a fake number plate (KA 03 KL 9714), collected the laptop but didn’t deliver it to the destination.

The incident was caught on CCTV camera and it has been revealed that the number plate used by the rider is fake. The actual owner of the number plate, Shashikumar, has filed a complaint with the police, stating that his number plate is being used by unknown individuals.

Abhilash has also complained to Rapido, but the company has reportedly not taken enough action. Abhilash is now worried and has requested people not to fall prey to such scams. He shared his experience, hoping to warn others.

Abhilash, who lost their laptop, had the Rapido biker collect the laptop from DTDC, then he cancelled the order. The rider was supposed to pick it up from the Hennur courier office and deliver it to the Kammanahalli office, but he didn’t. Even police also expressed helplessness, saying, “Complaint with the Rapid company”.
