11-year-old loses leg after temple gate falls on him

BENGALURU: A 11-year-old boy lost a leg after a temple gate fell on him while he was playing at the Makali Bailanjaneya temple near Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The injured boy is Lohit Nayak.

The temple gate fell on the boy’s thigh, causing a fracture, and the Muzrai department has been blamed for negligence. Lohit Nayak, the son of Kumar Nayak and Bharathi Bai, was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Earlier, Lohit’s father, a cab driver, had taken him to the temple the previous day, and the incident occurred while the boy was playing in the temple premises. The boy is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

People have expressed outrage over the incident, stating that it was due to the negligence of the Muzrai department, as the temple gate was very old and rusted, caused untoward incident.
