BENGALURU: A delivery agent riding a two-wheeler was killed after he was knocked down by a car in a road rage incident in Puttenahalli on the night of October 25. The deceased was identified as Darshan (24) and Puttenahalli police have arrested the car driver Manoj Kumar (32)  and his wife Aarati Sharma (30).

The incident occurred when Darshan’s bike touched the car’s mirror, enraging Manoj, who then chased Darshan’s bike for 2 km and rammed into it, resulting in Darshan’s death on the spot. Later in the night, the couple visited the spot again to collect damaged pieces of the car mirror. Manoj, who hails from Kerala, is a kalaripayattu instructor while his wife Aarati hails from Jammu and Kashmir.

The police are investigating whether the murder was a result of the minor collision or if there were other motives involved. The police have collected CCTV footage and eyewitness statements and are working to reconstruct the events leading up to the incident.

The initial investigation has revealed that Darshan and his friend, Varun, who was riding pillion, had a history of criminal activities, including theft and robbery.

They had several cases registered against them at the Bannerghatta police station.
