KOPPAL: A woman allegedly killed her two children and then took her own life at Benakal village in Kukanur taluk Monday. The reason behind the incident is believed to be an illicit relationship. The incident has sent shockwaves in the village.
Lakshmavva was in a relationship with a man named Beerappa of the same village, who was already married. When Lakshmavvas husband asked her to leave Beerappa, she refused. This led to a heated argument, and Lakshmavva allegedly killed her two children, Ramesh and Jhanavi, before taking her own life.
Lakshmavvas mother Basamma, had filed a complaint against Beerappa alleging that he was responsible for her daughter’s death. The police have registered a case against Beerappa under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and arrested him.
