UDUPI: A young couple, including a minor girl, committed suicide by hanging themselves at a rented shed at Labour Colony in Ambalpady here on Thursday night. The deceased were identified as Pavithra (17) and Mallesh (23).
Pavithra was a college student while and Mallesh was a migrant worker. The incident happened when the girl’s mother was away in Raichur. The reason behind their suicide is yet to be ascertained. The mother was on her way to Udupi after receiving information.
The Udupi police have initiated an investigation and have sent the bodies to the district hospital for post-mortem examination. The police are trying to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident
