BIDAR: The Bidar police have arrested two people and seized a huge quantity of ganja worth Rs 45 lakh in separate cases. The police seized ganja worth Rs 25 lakh from one location and another Rs 20 lakh worth of ganja from a different location.
In one case, the police seized ganja worth Rs 25 lakh near the KEB Function Hall in Bidar city and arrested a man who was selling it in a plastic bag illegally. The accused was sent to judicial custody.
In another case, the police seized ganja worth Rs 20 lakh which was being transported on a two-wheeler near Meenakera Cross in Chittaguppa taluk. The police have registered cases in Gandhinagar and Mannaekhelli police stations and are investigating the matter.
The Bidar police have been intensifying their efforts to curb drug trafficking and related crimes in the district under the directions of Police Superintendent Pradeep Gunti.
