BENGALURU: The HSR Layout police have arrested 16 people, hailing from Jharkhand and Rajasthan, for running a cyber fraud training center in Koramangala area.

The accused operated under the guise of a BPO company, Cybits Solution Pvt Ltd, where they would train men and women in cybercrime techniques. The accused would pose as employees of a software company and target individuals abroad, committing financial fraud.

They would digitally arrest their victims, threatening them with legal action for alleged involvement in cybercrimes, and extort money. The accused would use fake call center setups, and provide training to their team members on how to carry out these cybercrimes.

The police have seized over 20 mobile phones, SIM cards, and laptops from the accused. Further investigation revealed that the accused were using Bengaluru as a hub to carry out their cybercrime operations, targeting victims in foreign countries.
