Teacher heading for caste survey sustains injuries in bid to escape elephant attack in Virajpet

MADIKERI: A primary school teacher, who was on his way to a haadi in Dubare to conduct the caste survey, sustained injuries while trying to escape being attacked by an elephant in the Avaregunda forest in Virajpet taluk on Tuesday. He was shifted to a hospital by locals.

Shivaram was riding his two-wheeler when he confronted a wild elephant tried to attack him. In his bid to escape from the elephant, Shivaram fell from his motorcycle and sustained injuries. He is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.
