BENGALURU: The movie ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ was released recently and is performing exceptionally well at the box office. However, the over-enthusiasm some fans while watching the movie has caught the attention of the Tulu Koota. The Bengaluru Tulu Koota has sent a letter to actor Rishab Shetty, requesting him to advise his fans to behave responsibly.
The movie ‘Kantara: Chapter 1′ has made a significant impact on the Indian film industry, with its unique storyline and cultural significance. However, some moviegoers’ behaviour while watching the movie has sparked controversy. The Tulu Koota has taken umbrage with the antics of some fans, who are allegedly disrespecting the daivas tradition depicted in the movie.
The Tulu Koota has written a letter to Rishab Shetty, requesting him to advise his fans to not engage in outrageous and wild behaviour. They have also warned that they will take legal action if such incidents continue. The community is particularly upset about some moviegoers dressing up as daivas and reenacting scenes from the movie in theaters, which they believe is an affront to their traditions and beliefs.
Meanwhile, the makers Hombale Films have appealed to the public and audiences to “refrain from any act that involves imitating, mimicking, or trivializing the Daiva personas—whether in cinema halls or in public places”.
In a post on X, Hombale Films noted, “Dhaivaradhane or Daiva worship, as featured in our film, is rooted in deep spiritual tradition and is not intended for performance or casual mimicry”.

This is not the first time that such an issue has arisen. When the first part of the movie was released, similar incidents occurred, and the Tulu Koota had approached the police commissioner to take action against those involved. Despite the assurance that such incidents would not recur, the community is now facing a similar situation again.
The Tulu Koota has decided to take legal action against anyone who continues to disrespect the daiva tradition. They have warned that they will not tolerate such weirdness and will take strict action against those who indulge in it. The koota is determined to protect its customs and beliefs and is seeking support from the authorities to do so.
