BENGALURU: The funeral of Padma Bhushan awardee and veteran journalist TJS George was held with full state honours at the Hebbal crematorium in Bengaluru on Sunday. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was among those who paid their last respects.

The body was draped in the national flag as a mark of respect. The police fired three rounds in the air as a tribute. Several dignitaries, including HR Ranganath, Managing Director of Public TV, attended the funeral and paid their respects to the late journalist.
George passed away in Bengaluru on Friday evening at the age of 96. He had undergone a surgery and was in hospital for a week, but passed away after showing signs of recovery.
