KALABURAGI: A mother-daughter duo died after jumping into a well at Tadkal village in Aland taluk on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Jagadevi Hangaragi (45) and her daughter Madhumathi Hangaragi (22).
Madhumathi’s family was planning to get her married and were actively looking for a match. Reportedly upset over this, she jumped into a well on the outskirts of the village.
In a bid to rescue her daughter, Jagadevi also jumped into the well, but both lost their lives. The Aland police visited the spot and registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
