KOPPAL: The Lokayukta police on Tuesday conducted raids at five locations including the town municipal council office and the residences of two officials and two contractors in connection with corruption and other cases.
Those raided included contractor Shakeel Patel, brother of municipal council president Amjad Patel, junior engineer Somalingappa, revenue inspector Ujwal, and another contractor, Praveen Kandari.
Five teams of the Lokayukta police, led by Deputy SP Vasanth Kumar, conducted the raids at five locations simultaneously and checked documents. Further investigation is under way.
