Pro-Pakistan slogans raised during Eid Milad procession in Bhadravathi, police probing case

SHIVAMOGGA: Pro-Pakistan slogans were raised during the Eid Milad procession at Bhadravathi on Monday evening. A video of the incident is now viral on social media.

The procession, which started on Monday afternoon, went on till night. When the procession was at the Gandhi Circle, a group of Muslim youths raised slogans saying, “Zindabad, Zindabad, Pakistan Zindabad”.

After the video went viral, the Old Town police have registered a suo motu case and formed three teams to arrest the accused. The video has also been sent to the forensic laboratory for analysis.

Shivamogga SP G K Mithun said on Tuesday, “A 12-second video is going viral and a suo motu case has been registered. The video has been sent for forensic examination and three teams have been formed to identify those who raised the slogans. We will take appropriate steps in this regard”.

The raising of pro-Pakistan slogans, along with the recent remark of lawmaker Sangamesh claiming that he wants to be born a Muslim in his next birth has led to anger among the Hindu community.
