BENGALURU: Actress Ramya, known as the Sandalwood Queen, has shown a soft corner towards actor Darshan, who is now back in prison in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case.
The actor-politicial, speaking over phone to Public TV, said, “I worked with Darshan in a movie, and during the shoot, he shared with me his journey from being a light boy to becoming an actor. I was proud of him. However, recently, I was very disappointed with his behaviour”.
Ramya added, “It’s like he ruined his life somehow. When someone reaches a certain level in society, they have a responsibility. It seems like the people around him are not a good influence, I don’t know. If he had surrounded himself with better people, he might have taken a better path. First, he needs to get rid of the bad company around him”.
Regarding the Supreme Court’s judgment, Ramya said, “When I heard the judgment, I felt a sense of relief. The society that we are moving towards is on the wrong path. When the Supreme Court passes an order on protecting and respecting women, it’s essential for us to follow the law”.
Ramya also spoke about the importance of following the law and not taking it into one’s own hands. “If we take the law into our own hands, such bad things will happen. The judgment will send a good message to society. Everyone is equal, whether big or small, and everyone is subject to the law”.
Regarding Pavithra Gowda, Ramya said, “I didn’t know who Pavithra Gowda was initially. I am sad about what happened to her. She is a mother, she has a daughter. If they had followed the law and not taken matters into their own hands, this would not have happened”.
Ramya emphasized the importance of thinking before acting and following the law. “We need to think before doing anything. It is normal to get angry, but it is not good for everyone. No one can escape the law, no matter who we are”.
Regarding Renukaswamy’s family, Ramya said, “They are a poor family, and it seems like they have finally got some sense of justice with the Supreme Court’s judgment”.
Meanwhile, Pavithra Gowda’s friend Samata has reacted to the bail cancellation, expressing her disappointment and pain. Samata, who is currently abroad, said that she never thought this would happen. “Renukaswamy’s family deserves justice and those who are guilty should be punished. Not everything that appears to be true is actually true. The law system ensures that innocent people are not punished”, she said.
Samata added, “After Pavithra was granted bail, many people spoke out. Pavithra was in immense pain but still stood strong. She would often say that time would answer everything and that God would take care of those who did wrong. Her goodness will be rewarded, and God will help her”.
Samata also spoke about Pavithra’s business and how it was affected during her time in jail. “After getting bail, Pavithra restarted her business. When she went to jail, we had to close down the Red Carpet for a month. Now, things were starting to pick up again, and we were even planning to launch a website. But now, this has happened again and I don’t know what to say. Pavithra’s family is in pain, and I haven’t spoken to them yet. I only spoke to Pavithra”.
