CHIKKABALLAPUR: A private school teacher has been arrested for eloping with one of his students in Doddaballapur. The accused was identified as Praveen, who is a Kannada teacher and NCC trainer.
The teacher and the student, who were in a love affair for several years, eloped after the student’s marriage was fixed for August 11. They went to Delhi and spent some time there before returning to Bengaluru.
The student’s parents were unaware of the illicit relationship and thought she might have eloped with someone else. However, when the police tracked down the couple and brought them back, the parents were shocked to learn that their daughter had ran away with her teacher.
Praveen is already married and has two children, and his wife has filed a complaint against him at the Doddaballapur women’s police station. The police have arrested Praveen and are investigating the matter.
