MADIKERI: In a rare instance, the Madikeri traffic police have levied a fine of Rs 500 on a police patrol vehicle which was parked in a no-parking zone on College Road in the city on Thursday afternoon.
The police vehicle (KA 02 G 1815) was parked on a one-way street where parking is prohibited and the driver Jayashankar had stepped away for some work. However, the traffic police levied a fine of Rs 500 for violating traffic rules and thereby showing that the law applies to all.
The action of the traffic police has come in for appreciation from the citizens of Madikeri.
