BENGALURU: Three days ago, 14-year-old Gandhar committed suicide after writing a death note in Chennammakere Achukattu police station limits of Bengaluru. Investigation revealed some shocking facts that he was influenced by Japanese web series.
The family, including his parents and brother, was shocked, as there seemed to be no issues at home, and Gandhar was getting along well with everyone. The day before he died, Gandhar had dinner with his family and slept with his pet dog Rocky.
In the morning, he hanged himself in his room after writing a suicide note addressed to his parents, saying that they have taken good care of him for 14 years. He was very happy with them in all those years, but the time has come to leave this world. By the time the parent reads this letter, he will be in heaven, the noted said.
The death note left everyone stunned, as it didn’t contain any negative thoughts or accusations against anyone. Despite the seemingly peaceful environment at home, Gandhar took this drastic step, leaving everyone shocked and stunned.
The police investigation reveaked that Gandhar was hooked on the Japanese web series ‘Death Note’, which has gained worldwide popularity. He would watch all the episodes without fail and had even drawn a character from the series on his room wall.
The web series revolves around a magical notebook that can kill anyone whose name is written in it, with the protagonist believing that evil people shouldn’t live on Earth and should be killed.
Police suspected that he might have been influenced by the series, leading him to take his own life. There’s also suspicion that he might have had an excessive inclination towards spirituality. The police have seized Gandhar’s mobile phone and are continuing their investigation.
