BENGALURU: A man killed his friend’s estranged wife by slitting her throat with a knife at their home at Tirupalya in Hebbagodi on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
The victim identified has been identified as Mandira Mandal (27) and the accused is her husband’s friend, Suman Mandal (28). The incident took place at Mandira’s rented house in Anekal, where Suman allegedly killed her with a knife. After committing the crime, Suman committed suicide in the room.
The deceased Mandira was married to Bijon Mandal eight years ago and had a six-year-old son. However, the couple had been living separately for two years.
Suman, who was a friend of Bijon’s, had worked with him in the past, and they had even gone to the Andaman Islands together. Suman had returned 15 days ago and visited Mandira’s house the previous evening when an argument broke out between them, and ultimately, he murdered her and took his life as well.
The Hebbagodi police have visited the crime scene and have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.
