BENGALURU: A youth, identified as Ravikumar (26), was fatally attacked by bike-borne miscreants in Vinayaka Nagar in Anekal, and he succumbed to head injuries in the early hours of Saturday.
The injured youth was admitted to Narayana Health City Hospital in Bommasandra, where he was battling for his life in the ICU. The body was later shifted to Oxford Hospital in Attibele for further procedures.
The miscreants attacked Ravikumar, hitting him on the head with wooden sticks while he was sitting with friends near a shop in Vinayaka Nagar. The Anekal police visited the place, collected evidence, and are currently on the lookout for the accused.
According to the police, the attack was reportedly triggered by a love affair. The youth was allegedly attacked by the girl’s boyfriend and his friends. Three unidentified assailants on a bike hit the youth on the head with a stick and escaped.
Bengaluru Rural Additional SP Venkatesh Prasanna stated that teams have been formed to track down the accused, and the police already have information about the attackers. He assured that the accused will be arrested soon.
