Gescom officials raid stone quarries, seize 13 illegal transformers

The power utility officials seized 13 transformers.

KALABURAGI: Officials of the Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company (Gescom) have conducted raids on illegal stone quarries in Miriyan and Kistapur villages in Chincholi taluk and seized 13 transformers and two stone cutting machines.

Based on specific information, Gescom vigilance squad inspector Divya and asssistant executive engineer Latha led the raids in the border area of Chincholi.

Though transformers were installed illegally to draw power to the stone quarries, the Mines and Geology department had turned a blind eye, officials said.
