DAVANAGERE: A 25-year-old man committed suicide by hanging at Uddhatti Dodda Thanda in Harapanahalli taluk after his girlfriend’s family threatened him of life. The deceased was identified as Shashikumar Nayak.
He was in a relationship with a young woman from the same village for the last four years. However, family did not agree to their marriage and allegedly threatened him of life. Upset over this, and fearing for his life, Shashikumar committed suicide.
However, his family has lodged a complaint with the Harapanahalli police alleging that the girl’s family was responsible for his death. The police have registered a case against four people in connection with the case.
