BENGALURU: Two people were stabbed with a knife after a scuffle broke out between two groups over a young woman near Guru Bhavan in Nelamangala town on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

The stabbing occurred over a dispute about paying Rs 1,000. Chetan, who intervened to stop the fight, is currently fighting for his life in the ICU of a private hospital, while another person, Sudeep, was also injured.

According to reports, Sudeep had been working at a juice shop in Nelamangala and had gotten acquainted with a young woman two years ago. He had given her Rs 2,000, but they broke up a few months ago. Sudeep had asked the woman to return the money and she had already repaid Rs 1,000. However, Sudeep continued to demand the remaining Rs 1,000.

Three days ago, a group of 4-5 people came to the juice shop and made a phone payment of Rs 1,000. Later that evening, they returned and they got into a scuffle and stabbed Sudeep and Chetan, saying that he keeps asking for money despite the woman paying him.

The Nelamangala Town police have registered a case and are working to apprehend the accused.

Sudeep said, “The group started the altercation with us first for just Rs 1,000. When Chetan intervened taking my side, the group stabbed him with a knife. They also stabbed me. There were four members who came to fight, and three other people came along with them”.
