BENGALURU: A moulvi has been accused of sexually harassing a woman on the pretext of solving her domestic problems at Kuthagatta village in Nelamangala taluk.
The woman and her husband had visited the Moulvi, Bhadre Alam, seeking help to resolve their family issues. The moulvi allegedly took the 24-year-old married woman to a room on the pretext of solving her problems and he asked to remove her burqa first. He molested her, touching her inappropriately.
The woman informed her elders about the incident and a panchayat (village council) meeting was held for seeking justice. However, when no action was taken, the woman registered a complaint at the Dobbspet police station.
The moulvi, Bhadre Alam, is currently absconding. The woman had visited him with her husband on June 30, seeking help to resolve their family problems.
