KALABURAGI: The Station Bazaar police have cracked a murder case with the arrest of three people, including a woman and her live-in partner. The murder had taken place on March 12 and a missing person’s complaint was lodged by his wife on May 25.
The victim Raghavendra Nayak (39) was allegedly harassing Ashwini a.k.a Tanu by sending her lews messages. The two had been in a relationship earlier, but had separated. Ashwini informed about this to her live-in partner Gururaj and his friend Lakshmikanth, Police Commissioner Dr Sharanappa said.
As per their plan, Ashwini invited Raghavendra to meet her at a certain place from where she and her associated kidnapped Raghavendra and took him to a cemetry at Keerti Nagar. Raghavendra was also attacked on his private parts and Ashwini, who arrived there, also allegedly assaulted him.
When Raghavendra died due to the injuries, the trio then took the body to Raichur and dumped it in a river at Shakti Nagar. The police have since arrested Ashwini, Gururaj and Lakshmikanth. Further investigation is under way.
